Even though some of actors who played Last of Us Part II liked her even more than Ellie, the anger towards Abby led to a very interesting decision.
On the set of the second season of the show, Kaitlyn Dever, who plays Abby, was protected by extra security personnel in case fans stormed the set and beat or attacked her. Isabel Merced, who played the character of Dina in the second season of the series, explained in a program that she was worried about Dever, who played Abby, and marveled at the toxicity and hatred surrounding her.
However, Merced said that Dever is a very cool and calm person and is not affected by such reactions, adding that she thinks her friend could even win an Emmy award for her role as Abby.
